What is the difference between an Iphone 4s and an Ipod Touch, except for the price? To me it seems that you have almost the same possibilities with the 2 products.

There is a huge difference.

The first main difference disregarding the cellular capabilities is that the CPU chip of the iPod touch is under-clocked (its capability limits are reduced), even if it had the same name of the iPhone's chip. (note that the current generation of iPod touches have the A4 chip which exists in the iPhone 4 not the 4S which have a dual core A5 chip).

The second main difference is the camera. From one side, the sensor of the iPod touch's camera does not exceed 1 mega pixel, where as the iPhone 4S has an 8 mega pixels sensor. Among plenty of feature differences.

As a result, the iPhone is much faster.

The iPod Touch has no phone capabilities. Otherwise, they are functionally quite similar.

It's a phone. It has 3G Internet capabilities. Better cameras.

However, if you don't require any of the above, an iPod Touch may be for you.

Well, while it may not be a big deal to you, one is a cellular telephone, and the other is not. Pretty hard to use an iPod Touch as a cell or primary telephone 😁

My iPhone is my sole telephone. My old iPhone 3Gs is now effectively an iPod Touch, but again, it cannot make nor receive phone calls.

For people who want or need a cell phone, the difference between the two devices is huge.

From my perspective, it is a bit like asking "what is the difference between a welding torch and a toaster? They both can make toast?" Which is true, but only one can weld steel (and in turn is considerably over the top for just making plain toast). 😉

An iPod Touch and an iPhone may be quite similar in some respects, but at the same time, their differences are drastic, as one can do valuable things that the other is simply incapable of.

Iphone is a phone, has a GPS, has Siri, gets 3g access,etc

Ipod has none of these features.
