3 Beeps Death

Ok, I was using my new 15 in. Macbook Pro and the colorwheel appeared and the screen froze. After waiting, I powered down and the repowered back up and I get the white screen and the folder ?. My hard drive was also making a strange faint alarm sound. I begin to research what the deal is online. Inserted my OS disk to try to reload operating system. Instead of the folder, I get the Apple logo, but I get 3 loud beeps and that is it. I thought to reset PRAM...tried it; did not work. Bad Hard Drive....replaced it. Tested different RAM modules.....did not work.....still get the three beeps.....good news is my new HDD does not make the faint alarm noise.

Oh yeah....I live in the Caribbean and we do not have a Best Buy or Apple Store to take it to.....what should I do?

Thank you for any help/advice you may have.

Three beeps almost always means bad memory or the banks themselves. If you have tested other memory and you know it's good, then there's something wrong with the bank itself. You have a new Mac, so you can get it fixed for free. Head to your local Apple store ASAP.

HOWEVER, if you replaced memory yourself and somehow damaged the banks (my guess), then you will need a new motherboard, which will cost YOU. It will probably cost about 60-70% of the cost of the new MBP 15. Good luck.

Well, I do wonder if I had good RAM. I am at least now able to hold down the option key and holding down the power button and get and bring up the OS disk in the super drive. when I click on it to begin the process of downloading the OS, that is when I get the three beeps now. I am waiting for a friend to head to the U.S. to drop it off at an Apple store
