Hi, I wanted to chime in here as I've got the same issue.

Every few minutes when Ipad is off (magnetic cover closed) it emits a beep, the beep is a different sound to the sounds set for specific notification (in settings>general>sounds). No new notifications appear, nothing happens to the Ipad itself.

I know its not new e-mail as I haven't set up the facility to receive e-mail on my Ipad yet. Similarly I've no calender notifications (or anything else) set.

There are no beeps when the screen is lit up and the Ipad is in use, only when its 'asleep'. I'm not certain but I think the beeps only occur after the Ipad has been out of use for a little while - need to test this but while I've been sitting here typing this with the cover open (but screen asleep) its been silent.

Mine did that when I first got it on Friday. I finally realized that notifications were coming through because even though it was asleep, I had left WiFi on. As soon as I starting either turning WiFi off when I was finished with it or put it in Airplane Mode, the little beeps stopped. I thought I was hearing things..........LMAO!! When you have a lot of devices that give notification sounds, it takes awhile to figure out which one is beeping at you!!! I do think most of mine were from email, though.

A beep is usually associated with a notification. For example, if you have mail being pushed to your iPad, it beeps to let you know mail has arrived. To check what applications have notifications set launch the Settings application and select Notifications, the third item in the left column. You'll se a list of all the programs tht have notifications and you can edit them to turn them off/on and to make other selections as well.

Thank you for your reply!

I can't see that it is doing anything else (like flashing? which I noticed in someone else's question)

But I think it is a notification - perhaps about email loading

I thought that maybe the ipad was not turning off and it was beeping to tell me to turn it off - I have the magnetic cover and thought that turns it off

So I manually turned it off and so far no more beeping...
