finder jumps to last file in directory

I was looking through files in the music folder (many files). Everytime I click on and expnd triangle the sub files open and then the finder window jumps to the last file, meaning I have to scroll back up to look at the files.

Is there a resolution to this. Nothing on google. I have re-booted and reset preferences to no avail.

Help please.
