Tis iTunes is really getting on my wick grrr!

I deleted my iTunes from my pc as it wasn't working and down loaded a new version. When I try to sync iPhone with it, I get a warning saying that my iPhone is alreaspdy synced to another iTunes library.

How do I connect iPhone to iTunes without losing all my iPhone content?

Honeycroft,

simply can't be done.

i beleive that the contents on your phone they are all synced from itunes.

therefore even if you do erase and sync all the music you had previously will sync back to your phone. assuming that you bought some music from itunes store once you click on erase and sync it will ask you if you want to transfer purchases. so do that amd then carry on syncing.

same apply to photos movies and tv shows excpet that photos taken from your iphone will remain as they are.

regarding the contacts and calendars there is no risk to syn again, but make sure you do backup your pc address book first.

gd luck

I have just recenty discovered this problem! This is absolutley stupid! I've never liked Apple's control over stuff and their business technique but I could live with it in the short-term as I did enjoy my iPod. I now have lost any sympathy for Apple. Luckily for me almost all my music is on CD so, whilst it make be laborious, I know for certain none of my music has been lost. What do Apple expect from me? To keep the same PC for the rest of my life?

My iPod is the only Apple product I have ever owned and I can tell you now it is the LAST Apple product I will ever. Thanks for losing my trust Apple!

Do you feel a little better about your rant now?

I recently received a new MacBook as a Christmas gift and I was able to sync my iPad to the brand new computer and I did not lose anything,

You just have to know how to transfer your content and use your backups. It was very simple and painless for me.

Oh by the way, my daughter bought a new MacBook as well and was able to sync her iPod Touch and her iPhone to the new computer as well - didnt lose a thing.

Technically yes, on that wonderful invention called the CD! That's why I prefer to buy music on CDs. But I had so much trust in Apple I presumed they would be smart enough to let me re-sync the other music I bought myself onto a new library. Clearly not. I know for the future to back it up online...if I ever choose to have an Apple product again.

Then thanks to your choice - your choice, not Apple's - you will have to rerip the CD's. It does NOT matter what platform you are using. Failing to back up data is asking for disaster.

If you take the time to make a copy of your iTunes library, in addition to any system back up you are using, recovering it in the event of an issue or a change of machines is a matter of a few mouse clicks.

I've experienced the same problem as hundreds others on here.

Had to replace my daughters laptop. Result when I connected her iPod to iTunes it wiped her music

Had to update her iPod iOS to get any recent games to work. Result-it wiped all her music, games and apps.

I got a new iPhone. I did a back up of my old one on iTunes. When I tried to install same back up to new phone it just came up with error messages.

So you can get music and apps back. You just have to reinstall them all. Yawn. Apple do great hardware but their software is dire.

Another thing that gets on my goat is iCloud. I paid si I now get 15GB but in 4 months I've not been able to do one back up to iCloud. The reason? God knows. Nothing's ever simple with apple. I could probably look it up on here or google but I've lost the will on this. It all such a headache and life sapping.
