Mac OS X comes with three different Persian keyboards. Enable them all, try them out, see which one you prefer. (You can also install a different one, if you choose.) Then use the Geeza Pro font to begin with.

Note that MS Word for Mac and Apple Pages are unsuitable for Farsi. The Mellel recommended by fane_j is the best, and TextEdit, Nisus Writer, and Open/Neo/LibreOffice should also work OK. For Adobe apps it is best to use a special "ME" version.
