MacBook air will not power up and showing total black screen and dead keyboard

Hi

My MacBook air (early 2011) will not power up and just shows a completley black screen with no response from any keys.

When plugged into the power adapter is showing green so it is fully charged, but all I get is black screen, no sound, no display,no keyboard response - nothing!

Basically it's dead with no sound or screen display.....I have read around on this forum to hold down certain keys and the power button and have tried this but as all is dead nothing works- any ideas ?

Thanks

Richie

I had this same issue but after a new hard drive/ram install.

What solved the issue - and I hope this helps someone else who has the same problem:

1). Install new hard drive (with or without osx pre installed) or leave old one in in your case.

2). Remove all ram

3). Power on and wait 1 minute

4). Hold power button until it turns off

5). Install ram

6). Power back on

7). BOOM! It works again.
