Forget about doing it through Apple, way over priced. I've replaced batteries with ones that are available on ebay for as little as $5 and theyve worked fine. Check youtube for instructions, its not that hard and can be done by an amatuer in less than a half hour. If you don't want to get your hands dirty, there are plenty of shops around that will do the job for about $35 while you wait. Check craigslist as there are usually plenty of ads in there.
