Will Photoshop CS2 run under rosetta? Will it become universal like FCP5?

From everything I have read it will run slowly under Rosetta.

Adobe says that it will not release a universal binary until their next scheduled release which be around the end of the year.

I've been having problems with Creative Suite 2 (Standard edition). I normally do multitasking work with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign and found that one of the three when opened at the same time, quits or crashes on me. Is it due to the rosetta thing? Should've waited for the new releases, but it's for school purposes.

If you have the Intel iMac, I would suggest you max out RAM. Rosetta is a pig for RAM and will use as much as you can give it. Hopefully that should help.

My CS2 runs fine and quicker than the G4733mhz it replaced, even with only 512meg

I have Adobe Creative Suite 2 running on my 17" Intel iMac. I put the memory to 1gb and even under rosetta i think it runs fine. Infact its quicker than my windows PC i just sold.

I use CS2 for graphics on my website and am more than happy so far after the switch. I have always been a Windows person but god sick and tired of virus's, spyware and such a buggy operating system so i decided to switch.

Only having used a Mac for 30mins before I ordered mine i had no hesitation in handing over £1050 to Apple for a iMac.

Once it came i played on it non stop from 11am until 2am the following day!. I used the built in iSight camera to record a video review and although it was not amazing you have to remember its a built in webcam.

I am now planning on buying a DV camera so that i can capture high quality video and edit on the iMac.

I have had my iMac for 1 week now and it was the best switch i have ever made, in fact i still wonder what took me so long to switch.

Of course quite a few apps will run with Rosetta until they become Universal but in my experiance with 1GB or RAM you should be fine and then upgrade it to 2GB when you can and expect a HUGE speed increase. Then when Universal programs come out and you have 2GB you wont be able to hold it back, the OS will fly!.

2 more days till I get my 17" imac intel 1 gb ram. I can't wait.


How do I get rosetta, does it come with it or do I have to buy it or download it?

How do you get your printer to print on a whole sheet of paper, it always seems there is a border that the printer just won't print on???????????

Have only had my intel iMac about a week but Photoshop CS works FINE. Just did upgrade to 10.4.5 and everything still works! CS2 ought to work at least as well...
