software update won't connect to internet.

software update won't connect to internet. Dreamweaver won't connect either. All other software, like Safari, App Store, mail and iTunes will connect just fine. Running OS 10.6.6 on MacBook Pro with 2.53 Intel Core Duo. Any suggestions?
