How do you sync Ipod Touch with Itunes for files to be on the ipod instead of only availavble through icloud?

My files are only available when I can access icloud. I can see where I can click on a song and download it from the cloud , however there are way too many songs. How can I just sync all files directly to the Ipod Touch?

iPod touch, iOS 5.0.1

By files I mean any files - audio (mp3), video, pictures, etc.

Currently when I plug my ipod Touch via the USB cable to my computer and click "sync" from itunes, it will not give any errors, does go though some sync steps (I believe 4) however you can tell it is syncing with icloud and not my device as I have a ton of storage space on my ipod touch (and I get an error when I am not in rage of wifi that the songs are not available). When I look at my touch it appears the songs are loaded however all of the songs have the icloud symbol (since I signed up for icloud).

I want to know how I can sync all songs to the ipod touch so that when I am not on wifi - I can hear all my songs (directy storage on my ipod trouch). Right now the only way I know how to do that is to click on the songs on my itouch by clicking on the icloud symbol and manually downloading each song one at a time. There has to be a different way to sync my device and have the songs available without having to go through them one at a time. With as many songs as I have this process is way too slow.

I realize the icloud service I signed up for is intended for off device storage (as well as other features) - however I like to use my ipod touch in the car and other places that I may not be able to access wifi.

If you look at songs by artist or by playlist, there should be a download button at the bottom of the list of songs.

Open up a playlist, or an artist, scroll down to the bottom, and that should allow you to see the icloud download symbol that will allow you to download all the songs in that playlist, or all the songs by that artist.

If you have a playlist that has all the songs, that would allow you to choose to download all the songs.

I hope that helps!
