I've been trying for the past hour to get some photos off my iPhone 4S and onto my Mac, and I just can't figure out how to do it. my iphone is not showing up in iPhoto or Image Capture and I'm totally stumped. I've ticked the box in the iPhoto prefs that says open iPhoto when you connect a camera and still nothing.
Ideas?
Can you see that device in iTunes?
Using a USB hub or is the connection direct?
iCloud enabled?
I'm just connecting my iPhone via the USB cable to my Mac. Works in iTunes fine.
I've sorted this, a simple iPhone restart done the trick.
I found that this works:
1. Disconnect iPhone from dock
2. Unlock it
3. Plug it back in

After unsuccessfully trying all the suggestions here, I restarted the computer and (surprise, surprise!) it worked properly again.
