Macbook Rubber Bottom Replacement - A question

Hello 🙂

Today I recieved my Macbook (White) rubber bottom replacement , and have a slight worry if it is supposed to fit - I've tried my best to take photos of this , but maybe a description may be better.

I have affixed the new bottom to the laptop , however , it doesn't seem to align correctly as apple products usually do , seamlessly - It has been affixed properly too , as I've previously taken the old one off , and that went back no problem.

ALSO , I can push down on certain areas around the edge which makes it seem like it's not affixed tightly and would let dirt and dust in easily.

In other areas , the edges which meet to the plastic casing seem like they do not fit smooth and seamlessly - but rough and either a slight gap or slightly hanging over the meeting line.

Could someone please help as Apple have also requested I send back my old part within ten days....

Here are a few photos - I'm afraid they aren't fantastic in demonstrating this actual problem , as it's more of a close up or problem that needs to be felt.

I'm pretty certain my Mac bottom met every edge perfectly before the change to the new one - and there was no way I could push down on an area either - all parts met and fit together perfectly.
