How do I delete tv shows under my ipad when connected to Itunes?

Under my ipad symbol on the left side of itunes and in tv shows area, it shows some old free TV shows that I downloaded, watched and deleted. They all have the icon in front of them that looks like the icon when it is syncing but the shows are greyed out and I cannot click on them and delete them. I have downloaded the shows again and then deleted them but they still show up in itunes. I have also reinstalled itunes to see if that would help. No luck....any help would be great. Thanks.
