password protected site

hi,

i've protected my website with a login / password in iWeb. i am publishing to my mobile me account (though i use a custom domain - which redirects to my mobile me site). unfortunately the passwort protection does not seem to be effective in some browsers:

- in safari i'm not asked at all for the password

- in firefox, it works fine

- in chrome, i'm just getting an "unauthorized" error message

i'm using the latest versions of all browsers with their default settings and i have double checked, that i have not saved my website's credentials in safari.

any ideas how i can get the passwort protection effective in all browsers?
