iMac used to print to network printer, but now...

I am trying to print wirelessly, from my iMac OS X 10.6.8 to our family's shared Canon Pixma MP830. I've had no problems printing over the past year. However, after Christmas we changed out our old desktop for a newer one which runs Windows 7. The new PC is hooked to the router and the Canon printer. Our daughter has a Macbook Pro and she has been unable to print, as well. The PC has no problem printing, but the iMac gives a message of NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME. We are at our wits end trying to figure this out. Can anyone help??

Did I just hit "correct answer?" Lol! Oh, I'm a mess. Well, I can't print your instructions, so I've taken a picture of them re: safe mode, but it just dawned on me...what am I to do once I'm in safe mode? *crickets chirping...*

No problem, once you are in Safe Mode check to see if they printer can be seen again and then try to print to it. If it still cannot print then try the Reset printing system again and then test to see if it prints. After that then restart the computer as you normally would. If it's still not printing then I'd suggest removing the printer in the Print & Fax preference by highlighting it and clicking the - symbol at the bottom of the box and then starting over installing it.

OK, click the little picture then click the - symbol below it. Then restart the computer again in Safe Mode to clear the caches and restart normally.

Then you will need to re-install the printer. However before you start re-installing please let me know how the printer is connected to the iMac. In other words if it's a true wi-fi printer then it should have some type of utilitiy on it for installing it on your wi-fi network. This would be the first step to installing it, this will include entering any WPA/WEP security on the network. Once that is done the printer should be seen by the iMac and should be very straight forward to install using the Printing Overview OS X Lion. If it cannot be seen then you have an issue with your network and that should be reset. Installation for printers on OS X is very simple assuming everything is OK to begin with. If it doesn't then you will need to have someone come in that can debug your network.
