How do I assign songs from my music to a contact as an individual ringtone?

You need to use ringtones for assigning unique ringtones. You can get ringtone apps in the iTunes Store tomake ringtones from the music on your iPhone. When you have the ringtones that you want to use open the Contacts app. Select a contact, tap Edit and then scroll down the page to the section to assign a ringtone to this contact.

I just updated my iPhone 4 to IOS5. After dealing with missing ringotnes now I want to assign them to my contacts but when I go to the contact there is no "Edit" on the right conrner?! This is very strange! Please, help!

So you do not see this;

Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons together for 10+ seconds, ignoring the red power-off slider, until you see the Apple logo. It is safe to do, there should be no content loss. It is the same as rebooting your computer.

Go to contact. Click on Edit. You willl see option to add custom Ringtone. Make sure Ringtone is in your Ringtones in iTunes.

Please, tell me what's wrong? If I don't have the edit button that means that I cannot delete, edit.. or do whatever with my existing contacts. What happened with my Contacts after updating?

I did it now but nothing changed 😟

Yes, I see the contact details but with no edit button. There's only share contact and send message. Nothing else.
