Image Capture does not recognize my SCX 3200 Samsung Scanner

Is your scanner listed as a scanner in System Preferences under the "Print & Scan" pane?

If not, it may not be an installed device.

I have the same problem, the Samsung SCX 3200 as printer is working and is seen on System preferences/Print&Scan, but it's not working as a scanner. The scanning programs tell there is no scanner connected to the computer.

i am having the same problem with my scx 4500, since the last samsung printer update to 2.3

unfortunately this update killed the functionality of the scanner...

Which is as follows: Download the printer/scanner software version 2.2 here:

Then go to Activity Monitor in Utilities, double click on the "Samsung Scanner" and then force to quit.

Then install the 2.2 version of the printer/scanner software.

Refer to the thread above if my directions aren't clear. I had to restart my computer, but after restart, the scanner worked like it used to. Seems like Samsung's recent 2.3 update simply removes the scanner capability, which one would hope they will correct in the near future. Also, make sure your Software Update doesn't automatically update to 2.3 again.

Does this also apply to Wi-Fi connection?
