Q: transferring from ipod on to harddrive and then back in to itunes

I've finally managed to copy the contents of my ipod on to my new hard drive have lost use of the previous computer. I can see all the files on the drive but can't manage to get itunes to view / import them in via preferences.

I didn't know that iTunes is still running on Win98

This Apple Support document will help you.

Basically you must point iTunes to the locations of your files as stated in the doc, but organise it first, Yours maybe an old version of iTunes, keep it, to avoid any frustration, don't go downloading the latest version onto your Win98.
