My "Clean" music was matched with "Explicit" versions

Does anyone know how to get my clean music back from the cloud? I matched music and some matched incorrect as it matched "explicit" versions.

How do I get my clean versions back?

So what you're saying you deleted the clean version of the song and downloaded the matched file which is explicit. Then when you restored the song from your backup but iTM matched it with the explicit again.

If I'm understanding that correctly, there really isn't anything you can do at this time to force a match except report it to Apple using their feedback page <http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html>.

To get the clean version on your iDevice you can disable iTM on your iDevice, directly sync the clean songs, then reenable iTM. This should keep the clean versions of the songs on your iDevices.

I wish I had this problem. For me it's the opposite. A lot of my music like blink 182, 2pac has been matched with clean versions which I detest. I always like to view or listen to art in the way the artists intended for it to be. This is why I never purchase any kind of media from places like Walmart.

To get the clean versions back you would have to turn Match off, re-import the clean versions from cd, and then sync them to your phone.

you could import the original song into your library, then manually edit the id3 tags (command + I when song is highlighted).

You will want to find a version on iTunes that is clean (ie: radio edit or "clean version") and make sure that the name of the song matches EXACTLY to the name on the itunes store. Same with the album, those (song name, album, and artist (and album artist when applicable)) will dictate which files iTM will try to match it to.

If ITunes starts trying to scan your library while you are doing this, turn it off and then turn it back on again when all the file editing is done. (Store>Turn off itunes match)

The idea posted several times will not work with an iPhone.

When you turn on iTunes match on for a device, it will delete any media that is not on iTunes match.

Try it out and tell me if im right 🙂
