Is the macbook region locked?
What's the difference to the US version and the UK specifically?
Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

The UK version has the Pounds Sterling symbol on the 3 key. Its default will be set for English (UK).
That's about it.
In general, your DVD player is shipped uncommitted, and you can set the region code yourself a maximim of five times.
Well i'm planning on taking a trip to the US very soon and if i bought a mac over there but just wanted to know if there any difference in the 2 regions! Is the OS region locked? Not sure if it's true but i heard the OS isn't compatible in other regions? Not my original thought but kinda put doughts in my head lol
Mac OS X installs most Romance languages and some Asian languages by default. You can reset the language and similar parameters on a whim. It is not region-locked.
You may face having to pay V.A.T. or import duty on the value of the Macintosh when you re-enter the UK. If you have it out and in use (not still in the box) you could argue that the Mac would not be NEW at that point, so the value should be lower.
Okay thanks! I do a lot of video editing aswell and i put most of my work onto dvds, would there be a problem converting? I do my work in the uk btw and the dvds would be in PAL format. Would there be an issue or not?
PAL vs NTSC is not a problem. If you play commercial DVD movies, you may have region code restrictions.
