Ignorance is bliss đ
Or is that ignore is bliss đ
Whatever
Hi, Philly, hope you are having a good day, relaxing, and enjoying this upgraded format.
I haven't noticed much difference in the format except for a minor bug. If the post is more than several lines, the last line partially covers the Report Post, Like and Reply hyperlinks.
Any day when I read the obits and don't find my name is a good day!
Hey, I just gave myself a "Helpful" and I didn't get any points! đ˘
You can give yourself a Correct Answer but you will not get any points for that either. It is so folks cannot pad their own points and get to the next level by cheating.
Actually, I was surprised to see the "Helpful" hyperlink even present. I figured I'd try it and see what happens. It goes half-way - my post is reported as helpful but without the points. I guess that it makes sense.
Noticed with the present system a lot of people, mostly those without points, have been marking their own responses as Correct...guess they don't get it.
And yes, also observed the same thing about the behavior of long posts...makes a hash of part of the last line.
Every year when neighbors complain about cutting the grass, I simply tell them if they are cutting the grass they are on the right side of it đ
So what where the changes made with the new format, apart from the blue spot ? ( and what is the blue spot for , by the way ? )
On the main Communities page, if you look at the recent posts listing on the right side, the avatar of the poster is no longer shown, there is no longer the Re to indicate a response, you have to read to see if it says asks or replied, you can't put the cursor over your own, or anyone elses, avatar and see info such as point totals, and the blue spot on your stuff, discussions seems to indicate a new response has been added. At least those are some of the things I noticed yesterday after the Communities came badk on-line.
Thanks for that explanation. I have also found I get signed out after a while if I go away and I need to sign back in each time ,have you found that ?
Haven't seen that happen, so far, but have seen this morning some very flakey behavior in responding to posts when I try and add links, per the blue A thingy. One time it tried and make a hyperlink out of the entire sentence instead of the word I had highlighted. Some misbeaving going on that needs to be fixed.
What do you think about having you name up there in blue , Ralph, it sure stands out !
Not sure why they did that, kind of liked it better under the avatar and smaller, and the subject of the discussion where the name is now. The subject is now hard to read.
Guess that is termed "progress" đ
Yes I thought the subject was the most important thing, not who is posting, but as you say, "that's progress". Oh well it's getting late in Australia....
have a good night, it's 7:30 am here on the east coast of the US.
