Cannot run Microsoft Office after Snow Leopard upgrade

After running the OS upgrade as a test on an older MacBookPro, I just upgraded my work computer (iMac 2 GHZ Intel Core Duo) from the latest Leopard to Snow Leopard. All seems to work okay, except when opening Microsoft, I suddenly get the following error message:

"To open Microsoft Entourage, you need to install Rosetta. Would you like to install it now?"

Help! I ran the test upgrade on the MacBookPro (MacBookPro Intel Core i7) first, to make sure there would be no compatibility issues (the MacBookPro runs the same version MS Office)

- now I can suddenly no longer access my email on the work computer.

How can it work okay on the MacBookPro but not on the iMac ??

Any help/tips on making Snow Leopard and MS Office 2004 compatible?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8), 2 GHz Intel Core Duo

You are running a version of Office 2004 contains PPC code so you must install Rosetta if you wish to run it.

Don't upgrade to Lion with the version of Office because Lion doesn't have Rosetta and can not execute PPC code.

It will be necessary to yupgrade Office prior to upgrading to Lion.
