Signature problem (font, size)

My signaure is constantly oversized and email text font doesn't match. Googling the issue I have found that the problems exists since years. I don't understand why Apple keeps ignoring this issue. I use my Mac Air (Lion) for my daily business and my emails just looks embarassing. And I'm tired of how people downplay this problem.

Try sending yourself an email with the fonts the size you want them to be. Then copy and paste into the signature and this might help fix the problem. The iPhone seems to recognize font settings but does not give you direct control over them. I have successfully adjusted the size of outgoing email signature fonts this way, but I still can't figure out how to control the font selection (Times, Arial, etc.).

I first found a bunch of workarounds that involved copying and pasting stuff - not practical, if you want to change the signature or create a new one, you have to do it all again. Finally found Universal Mailer, open source plugin that fixes Apple Mail, and not only for the signature but also the attachments issue.

It is sad the the "most advanced operating system in the world" has a mail app that cannot handle signatures...
