MacBook Not Recognizing Nikon Camera Whatsoever

My late 2010 13" MacBook is not recognizing my Nikon Coolpix L105 camera at all. Doesn't show up in either iPhoto or Image Capture. Image Capture claims "No scanner or camera connected." Tried both USB ports to no avail. Camera recognizes that it's connected to a computer, but the Mac never recognizes it and the camera eventually gives up and powers down. What gives?

two suggestions:

1) try a card reader

2) reformate the sd card

Does the MacBook have a sdhc slot?

I had the time and went over the online manual for this camera, and it should work with your Mac.

There was at least one person who bought this at Target and had the same problem you did and was able to return it, but hopefully the problem is easily fixable.
