Question

Lion from the app store asking for random login details!

Hi i have a 2011 Mac Air 11"

Today i did a reinstall of osx lion. I erased the disk and connected the internet to reinstall, everything went fine no problems but when i went to the Mac App Store in the Purchased section, it showed Lion there with "UPDATE" instead of installed. When i click update its saying i need to sign in with some ramdom login details not my own! I thought when that happened it means its a cracked app isn`t it? How can that be?

My Mac came with lion on it, i also bought another copy of Lion in my account.

Anyone have any ideas? should i contact Apple?

Also i clicked the X to remove it from my purchased list but now i cant get it back, does anyone know how?

Click View Hidden Purchases in the Account Information window. You need to sign in first.

My Mac came with lion on it, i also bought another copy of Lion in my account.

Exactly which version of Lion do you currently have installed? Click your Apple menu icon top left in your scren. From the drop down menu click About This Mac.

Please try to login with your details. Does it goes on well? I'm not sure where to find it, but you should find your AppleID somewhere. This makes sure you use one Apple ID and not different ones...

Thanks for that, now its back in the purchased section its changed from UPGRADE to INSTALLED... very strange! Im have 10.7.2 the latest version.

Is there a way of looking who lion is registered too on my Mac?

My apple ID is fine i have no problem logging into anything, but it just said UPGRADE with someone elses login details.

Lion is licensed by Apple. When you purchase the software, you are purchasing a license to download and install it.

You can register your Mac with Apple if you have not done so.

I understand that, thats why i am worried that it was asking for someone elses details. Its changed now it just says INSTALLED and everyhing seems to be working!

Please check for System Preferences => Users & Groups => Current user your Apple ID. It must be the same as you use for AppStore

One more thing... i just redownloading lion again, it wont install again on my Mac will it? i want to move it to my external HD.

Please tell it in the setup manager to install on external harddrive

There's no need to re download Lion over and over.
