the game "Words with Friends" locked up on my Ipad2. How do I clear and fix?

Paul's solution did not work for me. However, I did solve it for my iPad: 1) shut down iPad by holding the top button on the iPad, 2) restart iPad by same button, 3) restart words with friends and the load screen should be gone.

Double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List

Tap and hold any icon

Press the red ➖ to delete the app of choice.

Press the home twice button when done.

I'm having the same issue with words with friends. I have not yet discover the solution but I know for sure that the other person that answered your post is not correct. His solution only closes active apps in memory. It will not unlock the infinite loading for words with friends. I will keep you posted.

Pauls solution works fine. I have played several hundred wff games, and have had it lock a hald dozen times. You need to shut the app down, including any recents lurking in the task bar. Then i reboot. If you just reopen the app, it is stuck in a tranfer loop, but nobody is listening.

I think it happens when your machine loses the internet signal in the middle of a transfer.

None of these are real solutions for me. They do unlock the app, but I still have a locked game I can't get rid of, and if I select that game it locks up the app again. Is there no way to delete the game?

I had a similar situation. Here is how I fixed it:

First remove the app from your iPad using settings then go out to the app store and download it again.

I could see the app on my Facebook page before I actually downloaded the app onto my iPad so I am guessing that the app was only partially there without full function. As soon as I downloaded it FROM THE APP STORE my problem was solved.
