i have read on 2 or 3 reviews that these chargers can catch fire :O and i just bought one i dont know wether mine could to any help also it came in white packaging not sure if thats right i thouuht it was clear and black like the packaging of the ipod touch thx

Out of the millions of chargers Apple has shipped, only a very few (counting all products, not just iPods) have been reported to have had any problem, and the circumstances under which those that have been reported to overheat is unknown and may have been at least partially due to environmental issues rather than being solely a defect. So I don't think you really need to worry.
