CAPS LOCK NOT WORKING...

I've seen many posts regarding the CAPS LOCK key not working or lighting up. I had this problem myself and couldn't figure it out so I went online and did research but none of the tips helped (turned off system, restarted, taking batteries out, etc.). The problem was under systempreferences/universal access/keyboard I had turned on the slow keys and checked the box for "use click key sounds" because I like my keyboard to sound like a typewriter. Once I unselected these options my keyboard went back to normal and my caps lock key was functioning again. Hope this information helps!
