iPhone Apps Aren't Working

I've got a Verizon iPhone 4 running 5.0.1; my problem so far is with the free version of Dictionary and Fooducate....

If I try to open either applicaton the loading screen appears; stays for 4 or 5 seconds and then the phone kicks back to the home screen. I can get Fooducate to work if I delete it and re-install it from the app store but it will only work one time. After the one time it will go back to the same thing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated; I've tried everything (reboot, resync, deleted and reinstalled the apps) still nothing different. I am assuming the next step is a full restore but I figured I would ask before going that route.

Thanks!

Try clearing the quick-launch ribbon. When on the Home screen double-press the HOME button. Hold your finger on any app on the bottom bar until "-" appears, then tap the "-" on most of the apps. This frees up memory. However, the real problem is the apps that have this problem are not freeing memory correctly; that you need to take up with the app developer.
