How do you create your own short on the homescreen to email account?

I've posted several threads and questions on here, mostly because I am looking at moving from a Blackberry to an iPhone.

Friends have said managing multiple email accounts is easier on the iP than BB. I fail to see how. But here's how it might work, and I am asking if this is possible:

Rather than just having the green 'Mail' app icon in the lower homescreen bar, can you create shortcuts directly to email accounts on the phone that show many if any of them have new emails, and link DIRECTLY to those accounts in the Mail app?

So for example, on the 8520 (and all the others), you get an email in and see a red mark by that account's icon. OR... you just want to check on an email in that account, you can just click that "hotmail" icon and you are straight in from the homescreen.

On the iPhone, you seem to have to click Mail, then Account.

Can you add a shortcut straight into each separate account?

I'm told you "must be able to", but not yet found out if it really is possible. Same goes for What's App - can you get the Whats App icon straight there on the homescreen, AND the MSN icon there too? Rather than going into messages then into those apps.

Assuming you mean the blue Mail app, sorry but no.

You could create webmail 'shortcuts' on your homescreen using Safari but you won't get any mail notifications.

**** it. It just means that multiple emails are not easier, in my personal view, because it takes "more taps" to get to them.

On the BB it's pretty much one tap.

I know you can view all emails in one screen, but I like to view emails in separate accounts.

the fraction of a second it takes is minimal, I accept. BUT... might goodness it would have been nice if you could "add short" direct to it.

Is What'sApp the same too - you have to go into Messages, and then into Whatapp?? Or can you get a shortcut and go straight in from homescreen?

So if you liked a particular Game, or used a particular item within your phone regularly, it won't let you get a direct shortcut to it - much like oyu would on the desktop of a Windows 7 computer?

I use What'sApp about 30 times a day. Really need fast access to it.

Shame they didn't allow for shortcuts to apps on the homescreen, so you can custom it better.

You can move any app to any location...

Tap and hold any app until it wiggles.

Move any app to the desired location, including folders.

Press the Home button when done.

Note that the double-click home allows you to switch betwee apps without going to the homescreen, i.e. you can do this from within an app.

No I use two personal mail accounts.

Incidentially, that **** out of a word wasn't a full on bad word, but apologies to Apple if it was deemed in that way.

I use hotmail for two account, and two personal pop3 accounts. Really want to be able to get into them with one tap from the homescreen. But seems like it's locked out from being able to do that.
