I can't get my iPhone 4 to connect to my Time Capsule WiFi.

I have a Time Capsule 802.11n (3rd Generation) suppling my WiFI for my home.

  • My MacBook Pro, iPad and AppleTV connect fine.
  • When I try my iPhone 4 I get a "Unable to join the network" message.
  • I am using WPA2 Personal security.
  • This is the only wireless network in my house.
  • IP Address on Time Capsule is set manualling to match my LAN.

I have tried the following:

  • Reboot my iPhone (turn it off and on)
  • Reset Network Settings on iPhone
  • Setting security to nothing on Time Capsule
  • Setting Radio mode to: 802.11a/n - 802.11/b/g
  • Setting "Use wide channels"
  • My iPhone 3GS won't connect either
  • My iPad won't connect using 2.5 GHz setting (connects fine on 5 GHz)
  • I got and AirPort Express to extand my network but the iPhone won't connect to it either

Short of calling Apple I am out of ideas.

Anyone have any?

Thanks 😟

Ok,

So the only thing I could get to work was...

Add an Airport Express and have it create it's own network. I can only get WEP security to work with the iPhone4.

I changed my DHCP scope on my main router to leave room for a static IP for the new Express.

In summery what I now have is:

Time Capsule running 802.11n 2.4 and 5 Ghz (Static IP)

AppleTV

MacBook Pro

iPad (Gen 1)

AirPort Express running 802.11n (802.11 b/g compatable) 2.4 Ghz (Static IP)

iPhone4

I will see if my iPhone 3GS connects when it gets home tonught.

I did try to extend my network with the AirPort Express but it would only support the 5 Ghz network.

Thanks you for the quick reply randers4 but I have been reading the forums most of the day and tried all kinds of things aready.

I can't get my iPhone 4 to connect to my Time Capsule WiFi.
