how do i reset my admin password
I have tried to reset my admin password so I can update software. I am not able to do it. I have my disc but even that asks for the password
Restart with the C key held down and the disk in the drive.

You may have seen this already, half way down it talks about changing the admin password: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274
Note that doing this will delete all of the data on your computer!
Boot from install CD/DVD
When in the system, choose the language, then go up to the Apple bar, and look for utilities. One is Password Reset.
