My iPhone 4 is no longer recognized by my car stereo since upgrading to iOS 5. Is there a fix for this?

I updated to the newest iOS and I'm having the same problem.  I connect an iPhone 4s through the USB cable that came with the phone to a Sony Xplod car stereo.  After the update, the system will try to read the connection, and then it will show "No Support."  So, it's definitely on the iOS end.  When can we expect a fix?

I too have the same issue, all was fine till the System upgrade. Plus my old iTouch on much older OS works fine.

    NB Both connect via USB

Car Stereo is less than a year old.

Will keep a watch on this forum for any updates.

I had the very same problem. After I updated to ios 7.1 on my iPhone 5s, I  was no longer able to play music on my Kenwood Excelon stereo in my car via  Apple's USB/lightning cable. I HAVE A SOLUTION THAT WORKED FOR ME. When I  first updated to ios 7.1, I did this on wifi. I talked to Apple  customer service several times with no help, so I took it into my hands  to try to figure this issue out. This is what I did to fix this issue:  1) Plug in your phone/device into your laptop and connect to iTunes 2)  Back up your phone/device 3) Turn off Find My iPhone 4) Click on Restore  iPhone 5) Continue and wait until the software is re-installed 6) At  this point my laptop told me that there was something wrong with my  phone, so I clicked to disconnect my iPhone and then Plugged it back  into my laptop. Now the iPhone was recognized and asked me to restore to  my backup from today 8) Restore the backup and wait. This took my  iPhone about 45-60 minutes 9) Sync your music and apps back onto your  iPhone and disconnect from laptop once completed 10) The final step is  to go connect your iPhone to your car stereo and enjoy your music  again!! I hope this works for everyone else. My guess is that there was a  glitch when I downloaded ios 7.1 on wifi instead of using iTunes.  Peace!!
