Q: How can I change the identity of a Mac?

Jan 9, 2012 8:39 PMby jeff.wykoff,Well, I changed the name of the computer in sharing preferences and it still shows up on my cell phone as my dad's computer. I also was not able to change the name on the user file. I suppose that I'm going to need a system disk if I want to make much name changing.

The above works in Snow Leopard also. Use the last procedure titled, "The Full Monty." Apple's procedure frequently fails to work for many users.
