iPad 2 on Verizon in 4G zone not connecting to 4G network

I purchased an iPad 2 in December and signed up for Verizon 4G LTE. I live in Miami and the iPad has yet to connect to a 4G network. Is there a setting that I'm missing ? I made sure that I purchased the best of the best in packages and maxed out the iPad. Does anyone have insight to this? Friends on Verizon use their 4G phones and tablets, sitting next to me, connected to 4G and my iPad 2 (Jan 2012) won't connect to the 4G network.

Thanks for any responses !

As far as I am aware, the iPad is still only a 3G device, and therefore cannot run on 4G networks yet.

They did on TV, at the time. "On the fastest 4G LTE network available..." That's why I went into the store and bought it, placed it on a network I've never used (Verizon). It's ok, now, I find that it is sufficient on the wifi network and is "ok" around Miami but an upgrade is necessary. I'll really discuss what is really in the iPad and iPhone, this Autumn, with the apple people, for the next purchases.

You're way off base here.

1. Where does it say, in that sentnce that the iPad 2 has LTE capability? It doesn't.

2. You're responding to a thread that's almost 9 months old.

3.. The original question in this thread was dated in January 2012...at which time therewas no 4G LTE iPads..only the 3G iPad 2.

3. Given the facts of number 2, what I stated was correct.
