Why has my keyboard layout changed
Help my iPad keyboard has changed. The letters are too small for my fingers. Can I change the layout back to the original style? The letters are separated at the bottom of my screen

Hold down the Globe key and make sure the keyboard language you want is active. If you don't need more than one, delete the others in Settings as described by Diana. A Y/Z (qwerty/qwertz) switch normally indicates a change between English and German/E. European keyboards.
You just accidentally split the keyboard. Take your fingers and do a pinching motion (like you would for zooming out on a website) on the keyboard (making sure that you start with one finger on each side of the split keyboard). This should make it go back together. Its a new feature that they added to make it ease tier for people who like to hold their iPads like a phone while they type lol. :)
Thank you very very much for your help. YOUR SOLUTION WORKED ! (and now I am able to see the letters much better again) It was very nice of you to take the time to answer my question & and I am very appreciative of your help. Thank you thank you thank you,,,,for rescuing me from the mire of frustration I was experiencing. - rowleyleas

Hi. It sounds like you changed the keyboard language, Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards. Are you using a 3rd party keyboard app, or a hardware keyboard?
