Running pc dvds on my Apple

I have an interest in the US Civil War and want to buy a couple of DVDs from the States. The site says the DVDs are pc only not Mac. Given I (think) can run/read other pc stuff on my Apple why can't I run these DVDs? Put another way- any ideas what I can do to enable me to run the DVDs please.

Your link goes nowhere. Do you mean http://civilwaranimated.com/ ?

Those are Flash videos and the examples on the web pages play fine for me.

If their DVDs are video DVDs in the standard mpeg2 format they will play anywhere. If they are DVD ROMs made on a Windows PC they may not. It may be possible to import the contents to your desktop and convert them to a format a Mac can use, for example by using VLC for playback, but only experimentation will tell!

If you don't already know about VLC:
