Jul 17, 2012 9:51 PM in response to Izzyvanby HACKINT0SH,I've run into the old 150006 numerous times. One word around I do is disable the quartz conflict with iTunes. When that doesn't work, I also turn on the ipv6.
Yes, seems everyone gets stuck here when trying to do it in Lion (Apple pulled a hide & seek trick). This is another reason why I always love to do everything in the console... no restrictions.

Aug 14, 2012 12:29 PM in response to Linz4Uby jackieoh,unbelievable...
i have a macbook w/ version 10.6.8, and have had BOTH airport express problems staying connected, as well as the never-ending beachball problem in every single application, including and especially safari.
today, i got the dreaded (-15006) error, found this page, turned the ivp6 to off, and voila. no more beachball. i have listened to THREE (count them!) songs in a row without any outages.
maybe if apple slowed down a little on its built-in obsolescence in the way of constant and frequent updates, we'd have a group of products that actually work together. i have a lot invested, but if they continue down this path of shoddy testing, incompatibility, and immediate obsolescence, i will definitely be choosing differently going forward. this is NOT the reputation apple used to have. disappointing.

Things really changed after Steve died. Or maybe also along-side Apple's growing popularity. I think Apple got it largely because their products were reliable...

Aug 24, 2012 3:28 AM in response to Linz4Uby woolgatherer,I had this problem. and i basically gave up because nothing worked.
the other day my router blew up. i bought a new Netgear (dgn2200). now everything works perfectly.
so for me, the problem was the router. (i had both a linksys and an asus, both would not let me use airpaly).
so long live netgear! i can now use airplay. and the Remote app form my iPad/iPhone! what a pleasure.

Aug 24, 2012 3:32 AM in response to woolgathererby Rudolfensis,Good idea. Now that you mention it, my internet comes from Orange — they are absolutely the worst, and the router they've provided broke once already. Will investigate.

Sep 5, 2012 10:05 AM in response to Rudolfensisby Rudolfensis,I tried setting up a network with only the APE router (and no internet input) and lo and behold, I am able to stream music to it.
Once I combine it with the network from my wireless router, it has the above problems.

Sep 23, 2012 5:09 AM in response to emilyjemby stylinbagua, thanks emily
had the same issue after experiencing no trouble with the airport express. the error message ( -15006) would not go away after restarting itunes several times and disconnecting airport. since it had worked fine for a long period i hoped emily's suggestion would fix the problem. and it sure did . mine is a mac book running OS X
System Preferences -> Network -> Advanced -> TCP/IP -> Configure IPv6 to OFF

Sep 28, 2012 6:52 AM in response to Linz4Uby MacArdill,This specifically helped, strangely enough. I was at a point where Airport express showed up as a speaker option, but with a different name than what I had designated ("Base station" and a machine code). I shut down computer, Extreme, and the Express, brought 'em up and all worked as advertised. Strange, used car logic, but it worked.

Oct 12, 2012 6:53 AM in response to Linz4Uby Michael Stiebel,Hi folks, and thanks so much for the IVP 6 "switch off" solution. I have been using Airport Express ONLY to run iTunes airplay music, for YEARS, on 10.6.8. Today was the first time I received error -15006.....so whatever has jinxed the system, has been caused by a recent software update. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! But thank goodness you guys had it sorted!

Oct 21, 2012 9:25 AM in response to Michael Stiebelby hben37,Thanks everyone.
After trying the IVP6 OFF and several resets, reconfigurationss of the APE network etc. I ran into someone saying to reboot the router. I did so, and finally worked.

Nov 9, 2012 5:38 PM in response to emilyjemby icerabbit,Thank you! Thank you! Thank you.
I was just setting up a new mac mini and AirPort Express for the purpose of media streaming. No sooner had I given the AE a local IP address or it was nowhere to be found by AirPort utility (and I'm very used to setting up non Apple routers, access points etc). Factory restored it. Set it up again. Left it at DHCP. Tried to play one mp3 file over the network to the AE: error -15006 ???
You can admire Apple for their innovations, but you have to hate them for their bugs and useless error reports; which they don't care to cover in their own manuals, knowledge bases, for years apparently, ...
Anyway. I'm now streaming without issue. Knock on wood.
The AE was a critical point in moving towards my itunes whole house audio idea, so many thanks for saving my evening and this audio setup I have had in mind for a while.
