Q: How do I add photos to a photo book.

I set up a photo album to develop a photo book.  I subsequently found photos in my photo library I wanted to add to the photo  book but can't seem to make that happen.  I tried adding these photos to the photo album defined for the ibook but when I subsequently access the photo book these new photos aren't showing up in the photo album to add to the book.  How can I add photos from my photo library to edit a photo book I've nearly finished?

first - there is no photo folder in iPhoto - are you talking about an album?

If so - there is no connection between the source of a book and the book - doing an album is simply a convenient way to gather the photos to start. Once the book is created it is its own album under keepsakes in the source pane on the left - to add phjotos to it drag thrm from an event or album to the book

    Yes, this confused me too.
There are two places where photos live in a book project: Placed Photos and Unused Photos. When images are added they didn't go directly into the default Placed Photos in my book project . . .which actually makes sense because they are not placed yet.
When you add new photos to a book you'll need to look for them in the UNUSED photos.

Be warned that as of April 1 of this year iPhoto is unable to order books, calendars or cards from Apple's Print Product Stores.  Only the new Photos app that comes with El Capitan can order from Apple.

You can, however, save the book as a PDF file and have  PrestoPhotos print the book.  They advertise that they can create books based on the Photos or iPhotos pdf file that gets created.  The sizes and cover types are compared here: Product Chart.

We've had a couple of users who've tried them and were happy with the results.  One user, kgem, reported back in this topic: has anyone successfully printed a book made in aperture from a non-apple printing company
