Q: Anyone else unable to print from iMac to HP Photosmart printer?

My iMac is connected directly to the HP Photosmart D110 printer that I got from the Apple store when I bought the iMac.  It seems that the data is increasingly not able to be sent to the printer for printing.   The iMac has the OS X Lion 10.7.1 software. I've tried all the HP suggestions in terms of disconnecting and reconnecting, etc.  Those suggestions used to work, but no longer do so.  I downloaded new printer drivers which fixed things previously, but cannot now get anything to print.  Any suggestions?

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.1)

    You should update your system using Software Update and install 10.7.2, this update has been out since about October....this shows you aren't keeping your system up-to-date. If you aren't sure how to set this go to System Preferences - Software Update and checkmark the box called Check for Updates and then set the frequency.

     

    Once you have gotten up-to-date run Software Update again with the printer connected via USB and see if there are new new printer updates. If there are then follow the on-screen instructions for installing them. Finally please follow Apple's suggestions for installing a printer as explained in Printing Overview OS X Lion.

    Thanks, but I was keeping my system updated by installing Software Updates - have tried that before, and doesn't solve the problem.  Any other ideas?

    Yes, use the Printer Overview link I provided, it works!
