When I call a number nothing happens so I press "End". The phone app freezes at this point, displaying the words "ending call..." I have to reboot to get rid of this screen. Help?

When I call a number from my contacts list I get no dial tone sounding so after waiting some time, I press "End". The screen then shows the party called and under that the words, "call ending...". It crashes at this point. The only way I can get rid of that screen is to do a complete reboot. Repeating the call, the same thing occurs. Would really appreciate help??? Thanks.
