How to get the Serial Number my stolen MacBook Pro ?

Hi Everyone,

Please Help !!

My MacBook Pro was stolen yesterday and it contains a lot of personal & professional data.

I reported to the Police & they asked me to provide them with it's serial number. Unfortuantelly i don't have any paper that has it's serial number !!!

My MacBook is registered with Apple. Is there a way to get it's serial number if i have the userName and password of it's registration ?

Can anyone advice how to get it's serial number other than the usual way ?

You can try calling Apple but I don't think they will give out serial numbers for products, even if you claim to be the owner of them. There's just no way to verify over the phone that you are the original, rightful owner. But you can always try 🙂

Also, Do you have credit card receipts from the time you purchased the MacBook? If so, go to the retailer and see if they can produce the receipt of purchase. This should have a serial number on it, or at least a reference.

If you log in to the Apple Store and go into Your Account you can Check the Status of Your Order which will allow you to Print Invoice which contains the Serial Number of your MBP.

Unfortunately this only works if your MBP was purchased within the last 18 months.

A friend of mine that was on vacation in Washington DC purchase it from a Best Buy shop last November.

Contact Best Buy to see if they can retrieve a reciept of the purchase

If your computer is actually registered with Apple, then you can log into http://supportprofile.apple.com with your Apple ID and see all your registered products - including their serial numbers.
