I have some m2V and m1a video files and ac3 audio files, but cannot get both to play together on iTunes

I have some video (m2v) files and their audio files in a separate file, ac3.

I cannot play both files together to get vison and sound .

How can I convert them to play in sync in iTunes?

MBP 13inch, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

It sounds like you have separate audio and video streams from a DVD. You need to use a video editor to mux them. This isn't something iTunes does. Also I don't know if iTunes can play mpeg2. Its video capabilities are really set up to function around mpeg-4 and .mp4 and .mov formats.

I won't ask about the source of the streams. If it's something from commercial DVDs you won't be able to get help on an Apple forum because of the Terms of Use. Even if it isn't, you would really need to ask about this level of video editing on one of the video forums such as iDVD.
