I resently perchased Mainstage 2 via the App Store, I have started to download the additional free content - spacing it out over a couple months so that I don't get charged by my ISP for 30+GB of excess data!!.
Since I don't want to have to go through the process of re-downloading the entire library in the event of a system crash, I want to backup the additional content to a network Drobo. I checked the :Library/Application Support folder and did not find a Mainstage folder, but did find a Logic folder.
Since I do not have Logic installed on this Mac, I am assuming the content is for Mainstage. Is this correct? If that is the case, if/when I install Logic, will Logic automatically find the content?
Will all the additional content download into this folder?
If that is the case, can I just backup the Logic folder to my Drobo, and if my system crashes, can I just copy the folder back and have the content recognized by Mainstage after moving to a new Mac or a recovery?
Any help of suggestions on the proper steps to backup Mainstage and all the free downloadable additional content would be greatly appreciated.
You will need to backup:
The Mainstage Application
Library:Application Support:GarageBand:Instrument Library
That should do it?
It might be easier to download the Additional Content installers directly (rather than using the in-application method), so that you can backup the installers themselves.
