Q: Can't Import RAW images on new Mac with Lion

Ever since buying an iMac in the summer with Lion installed, I haven't been able to download RAW images from my Canon 40D, either to iPhoto or Lightroom. My work-around has been to download to my iPad and then download from the iPad to the iMac, which has worked everytime except tonight for some reason... hence why I'm finally posting this. I can still download with out any problems to my Macbook with Leopard. I've found other posts with similar issues but no good solutions other then people switching back to jpeg... which really isn't an option. Any suggestions?

According to this support article your camera should be supported by a system wide raw support from OSX 10.7.0.

Can Image Capture download the raw images?

Have you thought about buying a Card Reader and taking the card out of the camera and placing it in the card reader.
I will guaranty that doing that you will be able to import the RAW images to either iPhoto or Lightroom.

Using Image Capture, I get the error "An error occured while importing. The item 'IMG_9237.CR2" was not imported" so no, its a similar problem to the other two programs.

I haven't tried a card reader, I will try that though and let you know what happens. Thanks.

When I look into the System Library
/System/Library/CoreServices/RawCamera.bundle, I see the file has a date June,17,2011

Do you have the same RawCameraBundle?
Also you could try the

I do have the same RawCameraBundle, also dated June 17, 2011, and I just installed the update 3.9 a few hours ago and still no success. All good suggestions though, any other thoughts?
