How do I remove the "Are you sure you want to shut down your computer now" prompt permanently?

Actually, if there's a list of terminal commands out there that removes a variety of these babysitter prompts, I'd love to see it.

Thanks!

There's no way to disable the prompt.

That said, you'll notice that if you ignore the prompt, the shutdown will occur after 60 seconds anyway.

Since you mention the command line, you can always do 'shtudown -h now' , though you should be mindful that does not running applications a message telling them to quit, it just quits them. You could even add the shutdown command to the application services menu.

Could just shut down using Control-Option-CMD-Eject

This will quit open Applications instantly and shutdown gracefully.

Or hold down the Option key while selecting Shutdown.

Maybe something here

You could try setting the time to shutdown

2 secret(s) found for shutdown

X11 (2.4.0) User uploaded file Set timeout for the auto-quit feature
defaults write org.x.X11 wm_auto_quit_timeout -integer
