I have a Lion Server with all kinds of problems related to SSL certs. I think it is related to certs stored in the system keychain because if I remove a certificate from that keychain it will reappear by itself. Also many keys will duplicate by themselves. So there seems to be a problem.

Keychain first aid only let's me repair the user keychain not the system keychain. So, how do I repair the system keychain in lion?

I tried:

- to login as root but that is not working because login window hangs when I enter root as user name and will not let me enter a password. Root is activated.

- launch the Keychain app with the Terminal via sudo open -a.

- use Launch as root to launch the keychain app.

Mac OS X (10.7.2)
