Ken Burns effect - zoom and hold?
In the Ken Burns effect, is there a way to zoom in, hold for a few seconds, then zoom back out?
Thanks!

Theoretically, can you adjust the Ken Burns like normal. Go to the last frame, and then use the Retiming to HOLD at that frame?
I tried that. The problem there is the end frame and the next start frame don't match up. I thought it might be easier to do it all in one move (zoom in, hold, zoom out). Any ideas?
Not with Ken Burns. You'd have to manually animate the scale function.
I tried to manually enter the numbers. No luck. I want to simply kern the End box a pixel up/down/right/left - is there a way to nudge it? How are you suppose to match frames so there's no jump cut if you can't have the End points of one clip match the Start points of the next clip?
I know this is an old thread, but (if I understand you correctly) the way to do this is to blade the clip.
The KB effect in FCP X works from the beginning to the end of a clip, so if you want to zoom in, hold then zoom out, you need to add your zoom in to the original (whole) clip, then blade the clip in two places to give your three clips, with the middle one being the hold clip.
Adjust the KB effect on the middle one so that it does nothing (beginning and end are the same)
Lastly, the third clip will now start from the beginning and zoom in again. All you need to do is click the little curved arrow icon at the top left of the preview window (in KB mode) and it will reverse the effect.
Hope this helps.

I know this is an old post, but I thought I'd post on here for anyone else looking. There's a command under the edit tab to add a freeze frame. If you create the freeze frame at the very end of the Ken Burns effect, it should give you the effect you're looking to achieve.
This Title effect, called ZPR (Zoom, Pan, Return) is easy to use and very flexible. If you just need zoom and return, set the red rectangle to the same position and size as the green.) No freeze frames required.
