iPhone 4s - screen dimming / auto-lock issue

Question

steps to reproduce this issue:

1. buy any iPhone 4s

2. turn on Auto-Lock to some setting other than "never"

3. read the content of some webpage, note, or text app for longer than Autolock -30 seconds value

4. watch your iPhone dim, even when not told by you explicitly to do so

5. try to change any settings to avoid more dimming

6. only choice is to set Auto-Lock to "never"

unacceptable !!!!

Does anybody know a workaround for this behavior ?

Yeah. Tap the screen to restore full brightness. It's trying to save you from wasting your battery when you're not interacting with it.

tapping = unacceptable. Who says Im wasting anything ? Thats quite presumptious of Apple.

This is silly and dumb. Ive sent feedback already. Hoping for intelligence on this one, guess we are back to hope management.

You want some intelligence.... return the phone and go buy something else. You can troll the Android forums.
